We can bring your story to life

What can we do for you?

In a nutshell, we bring stories to life. We’re a dedicated bunch of people with over 30 years of experience developing commercially successful visitor attraction businesses.

Our success comes from making sure we deliver the best possible story-led experiences for our guests, knowing that when we get this right, commercial success is a given.

We believe in working hard and having fun. We are creative heads on commercial shoulders.
A rare commodity, we know!

We have a desire to create and a passion for providing exceptional experiences so as well as working in partnership with others, we continue to invest in our own portfolio.

We are proud of projects such as The Real Mary King's Close and Spinnaker Tower, which showcase our success in developing visitor attraction businesses over long-term leases.

We put our money where our mouth is and continue to have the confidence to invest in our industry, such as our recent purchase of GreenWood Forest Family Park in North Wales.

Our Story

1984 The Jorvik Viking Centre opens...
...and Heritage Projects Ltd is formed. It all started in York with two men in a hole in the ground. A dynamic partnership with amazing creativity. Plus a bit of fun along the way. Then they made history and museums changed forever. It was such a great idea that others wanted to share in the success story - everyone wanted their own Jorvik! Continuum, then known as Heritage Projects, was born and we haven't looked back.
1988 Introducing The Canterbury Tales
This long-running and well-loved visitor experience encapsulates Chaucer’s famous tales in an authentic and engaging way. The concept has truly stood the test of time, as the attraction remains a commercially viable, must-see experience for domestic and overseas visitors to Canterbury.
1988 The Oxford Story Opens
The Oxford Story was created in the style of Jorvik. It offered popular insight into the city’s world famous University, its famous faces and wonderful history all complete with sounds, smells and a state-of-the-art 'people mover'!
1991-2001 Dover welcomes the White Cliffs Experience
Dover County Council invested £20m in a major new interactive attraction and city museum in order to build upon the city’s tourism portfolio and create economic impact. Continuum provided a 10-year operational contract: from set up to openin.; from branding to marketing implementation – the project attracted visitors to the city to discover its Celtic and Roman origins, its geography and its rich heritage.
1990-2000 Enjoy 'a Day at The Wells'
Royal Tunbridge Wells made an early investment in an interactive visitor attraction in the Pantiles area of the town in order to raise the quality of the area, generate interest and create an economic stimulus in a previously run-down area. It accomplished all this and more. Continuum provided a full service operational management contract: from set-up to operation, from financial services to tourism marketing.
2000 New name, new people, new skills
Heritage Projects merges with a small design team to create Continuum Group (later, Continuum Attractions). This brought a wider list of skills including marketing, design and operation and more potential for growth.
2001 The International Centre for Life is born
Millennium investment fueled a million projects... and as millennium projects go, this one remains a success! We helped deliver this project in Newcastle, welcoming visitors to explore the world of genetics. The multi-purpose venue includes a visitor attraction, a full educational laboratory and a genetics institute.
2002 Cheerio Jorvik!
We bid a friendly 'adieu' to the operation of Jorvik Viking Centre, placing it in our past and making way for new, exciting projects...
2003 We reveal the Real Mary King's Close
We worked with the City of Edinburgh Council to reveal the rich history and fascinating stories hidden underneath Edinburgh’s Royal Mile. We created a world-class visitor attraction which has welcomed over 2 million guests to date, proving that the 'magic of the real' has the power to transform sites into 5 star experiences.
2005 Spinnaker Tower stands tall!
Starting in 1995, we worked with Portsmouth City Council for ten years to create the visitor experience in the £35million Spinnaker Tower. Standing 170m above Portsmouth Harbour, the experience attracted over 750,000 visitors in its first 18 months and continues to attract people to its expanded offering which includes adventure abseiling, exciting events and even weddings!
2006 Unlocking Oxford Castle
Working closely with Oxford Preservation Trust and their Heritage Lottery funding, Continuum Attractions brought to life one of the city’s oldest historic assets. Oxford Castle Unlocked has since established itself as a must-see experience and corporate venue in Oxford - with a rather delicious cafe offering and successful retail space!
2008 Transforming Kent Life
The Museum of Kent Life, as the attraction was formerly known, faced an uncertain future. We were appointed by Maidstone Borough Council to transform the heritage farm park. As a result, visitor numbers doubled in its first year.
2011 Operating The Crystal
Continuum Attractions developed the operating model of a new brand centre and urban sustainability attraction. The Crystal is unique to the visitor attractions sector, showcasing cutting edge technologies and featuring the world’s largest exhibition on urban sustainability.
2012 Bringing Chocolate to life
We set out to create a brand-new experience in our own home town of York, bringing to life the story of the UK’s home of chocolate. The immersive experience tells the story of York’s confectionery trading and manufacturing past and present. Delicious!
2012 Emirates Air Line Cable Car takes off
Continuum Attractions took on the challenge to deliver The Emirates Air Line Cable Car – London’s new Thames river crossing, which opened just prior to the 2012 Olympics. The attraction welcomed 33,000 visitors over its first weekend, positioning it as a top tourist attraction in London.
2014 The cobbles open at Coronation Street The Tour
Working in partnership with ITV, we took the opportunity to create a fantastic visitor experience at the former home of Coronation Street filming. Following a hugely successful limited-time run, we carried on our partnership with ITV and hope to bring the cobbles back to life in the near future.
2015 Ee by gum, its Emmerdale Village Tour
The live, working TV set located within the Harewood Estate in Leeds that has played witness to many-a spectacle. Continuum Attractions, in partnership with ITV, opened its gates as cast and crew down scripts for the weekend to allow guests to enjoy a fully guided tour of Yorkshire's popular, fictional village.
May 2016 'In the money' with The Royal Mint Experience
Opening in May 2016, Continuum won the contract to open and operate The Royal Mint Experience over an 18-month period and prepare the operation for a handover back to the internal team.
September 2016 Taking the cobbles cross-country
We took the famous cobbles on tour with an exhibition of the famous sets, stories and props from Britain’s favourite soap programme.
2016 Stepping into the Drama
We brought Emmerdale to life with full scale set reconstructions, preserved props and costumes to the secrets behind stunts and special effects in the centre of Leeds with The Emmerdale Studio Experience.
July 2017 GreenWood Forest Park joins the family
We were delighted to have acquired GreenWood Forest Park and add it to our portfolio. Continuum Attractions has been keen to expand
into outdoor, family experiences and GreenWood offers a fantastic opportunity for us to do so.
May 2018 Coronation Street The Tour is back!
We were thrilled to run guided tours of the external Coronation Street sets at the new MediaCityUK filming studio, continuing our partnership with ITV. Corrie fans are once again able to see their favourite outside sets - plus the newly extended Victoria Street set - just hours after the cast and crew have walked the cobbles.
2018 STAR WARS: SECRETS OF THE EMPIRE
This ground-breaking interactive experience opened to the public at Westfield London (Shepherd’s Bush) from 16th December for 12 weeks giving Star Wars™ fans the opportunity to step beyond reality and into a galaxy far, far away.
2021 GreenWood Tipi Glamping
Our GreenWood Family Park attraction opened up its glamping (glamourous camping) tipis to great success. Guests get to stay on nature's doorstep but still have access to creature comforts in our spacious tipis on site.
2023 Continuum takes over the iconic Loch Ness Centre, investing 1.5 million pounds in updating and refreshing the five-star attraction. The site is planned to open in April 2023. Continuum's award-winning storytellers are delighted to take custodianship of such a legendary story and will inspire our visitors to "Keep looking".
