We’re proud to share that our Edinburgh attraction, The Real Mary King’s Close, has been recognised in TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards: Best of the Best Things to Do for 2026 - ranking as the 6th best attraction in the world!

The Close came ahead of Paris’ Eiffel Tower and the Colosseum in Rome in TripAdvisor’s annual rundown of top attractions, also scoring 2nd place in the UK list.

This prestigious accolade places the attraction among the very best experiences on the planet, based entirely on consistently outstanding guest reviews over the past year. Fewer than 1% of TripAdvisor listings achieve this distinction, making it a real hallmark of excellence.

A world-class experience beneath Edinburgh’s streets

Set beneath the Royal Mile, The Real Mary King’s Close offers a uniquely immersive journey through Edinburgh’s hidden past. Fellow Edinburgh attraction, Royal Yacht Britannia, was number one in both lists.
