A fond farewell to Spinnaker Tower

After 21 years of operating Spinnaker Tower, we have officially handed over the attraction to its new operator, marking the end of a significant chapter in our history.

Since first welcoming guests in 2005, we have been incredibly proud to play a part in establishing the Tower as one of the South Coast’s most iconic visitor attractions. Over the past two decades, millions of people have enjoyed its spectacular views across Portsmouth Harbour and beyond, creating memories and celebrating some of the city’s most important moments.

From endless queues on opening day through to Portsmouth’s 100th anniversary of city status in 2026, the Tower has remained an important part of the city’s identity, and we are proud of the role Continuum has played in its story.

Above all, we want to recognise and thank the incredible team who have made this possible. Their passion, dedication and hard work have been at the heart of its success, ensuring guests receive a warm welcome and a memorable experience every day. It is their commitment that has helped make the attraction what it is today and we are enormously grateful to everyone who has been part of the journey.

To mark the end of our time together, colleagues came together last month for a farewell, with our CEO and COO joining the team to thank them in person and reflect on everything achieved over the past 21 years.

Our CEO Andrew Pawson said: “Spinnaker Tower has been a very special part of Continuum’s story for the past two decades, and it is the people who have worked there who have made it such a success. We are incredibly grateful to the team for their dedication, passion and hard work over the years. It has been a privilege to work alongside them, and while it is sad to be bringing our time at the Tower to a close, we wish them all the very best as they move into this next chapter.”

While this chapter comes to an end for Continuum, Spinnaker Tower has an exciting future ahead. We wish the new operator and, most importantly, the fantastic team every success as they take the attraction into its next chapter.

It has been a privilege to operate such a special attraction and to be part of Portsmouth’s story for 21 years!
